Hello and welcome to my shadow sculpting page. For years I’ve been intrigued by the profound and personal meaning of light and its absence. That symbiotic relationship between darkness and brightness not only has sparked many creative ideas but have come to be an important part of my philosophy towards life. Often the “dark side” is referred to with negativity and aversion, I see it as the balance to a bright one, observing both of them with an objective approach. “We don’t see objects we just see the light bouncing on them but the objects remain unchanged in darkness”.
My shadow sculptures seek to portray the concept of duality, each piece is intended to have two sculptures, one physical that lives in the “bright side” and one projected that lives in the “dark side”. Sometimes their relationship is positive, sometime negative, but each piece would never be complete without light and darkness working together to create a full rounded concept.
